Some important maintenance has been taking place in the college during the Christmas holidays.

The organ of the college chapel is used regularly during the liturgies we celebrate in the Scots College, however, in recent years it has been starting to show its age.

With the break in liturgies being celebrated in the College Chapel, the chance has been taken to do much needed work on the instrument. This maintenance has required some considerable dismantling of the equipment involved in the sizeable, but well hidden organ system.

Major work like this requires expertise and skill and we are grateful for the professionals who have been contracted to do it. As you might image, it is also not exactly cheap, but the organ has accompanied the liturgy in the College for over fifty years, including Wednesdays when we traditionally remember our benefactors at Mass, and we hope that the work will keep it going for a good few years to come.
