The Scots College hosted a successful Quiz Night fundraising for Mary’s Meals on the 5th May.
After the success of our first Quiz Night last year, the Scots College community hosted friends from across the city to another night of specialist subjects, memory tests and a vital test of general knowledge.
The night began with the Spiritual Director, Fr. Mark Cassidy, offering grace before a pasta supper. The evening was attended by seminarians from some of the colleges in Rome, including the English, American and Beda as well as students from the various universities and institutes the Scots seminarians and deacons attend.
Organised by resident quiz master, Ryan Black, the quiz included rounds on TV, Geography, The Bible and music. The final round was an escalator of 8 general knowledge questions, each answer worth more points.
The winning team won by 1.5 points and picked up a giant easter egg for their winning efforts.
A big thanks to everyone who supported the evening, including the Papal Tailors, Gammarelli who donated €500 to the cause. In the end the evening raised over €2200 for the work of Mary’s Meals, a charity set up in 1992. The Argyll based organisation works to ensure every child in the schools they support has one square meal a day.
