The community of the Pontifical Scots College in Rome hosted staff and students from three Schools of Divinity in Scotland on 20th February 2018.
A delegation from New College (The University of Edinburgh), Trinity College (University of Glasgow) and St Mary’s College (University of St Andrews) joined the community for Evening Prayer and a meal, preceded by a guided tour of the Scottish seminary in Rome.
The Rector, Fr Daniel Fitzpatrick, thanked the guests for their presence, saying that everyone present shared in the mission of preaching Christ’s Gospel in Scotland. He also emphasised the importance of working together around the country.
The Principal of New College, Rev. David Fergusson, spoke about the common Christian and Scottish roots shared by members of the Catholic Church in Scotland, Church of Scotland and the Scottish Episcopal Church. He also thanked the hosts for their hospitality, presenting them with a pewter plate decorated with the crest of the University of Edinburgh.
