On two occasions in October, the Scots College hosted a couple marking a landmark wedding anniversary.
Firstly, on the 28th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Gerry and Josephine Doherty from East Kilbride visited to mark their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple marked the special day on the 9th October and then on the 11th visited the college for Mass and a celebratory meal, at the end of which the College community gave a toast and rendition of Ad Multos Annos. Paul Denney, a student at the college in his 6th year, was on hand to show the couple around the college and is pictured with them in the College Chapel after mass.
Then at the end of the month, the grandparents of Ryan Black, a 3rd year student from the diocese of Paisley, made their first-ever visit to the Eternal City and were able to celebrate their own 50th wedding anniversary. John and Betty Duncan from Port Glasgow, came to the College at the end of a week which had included a private Mass in a small chapel below St. Peter’s. They are pictured here with their grandson Ryan and Spiritual Director of the College, Fr. Mark Cassidy.
